Do you truly know the Father's heart for life? Kurt Dillinger was a pastor who already stood against abortion when the Lord convicted him that he didn't.
In this episode, Chris and Alissa welcome their first guest: Kurt, LIFE International's president and founder. He traces the story from his grandfather's lap, watching Billy Graham crusades, to a devotional time in Genesis 1:26–27 when he thought he heard, "Kurt, you don't know My heart." It broke him, and it began a 40-year journey of growing in the heart of the Father for life.
A woman's rights are important, and the little person in the womb is very important, but what Kurt came to understand was, "This is an attack on Me." It is God's image that is under attack, through the most innocent of His creation. That is why Kurt says the issue is not primarily political but primarily spiritual, and its rightful place is in the Church.
Kurt also asks what a pro-life person should be like. The answer he heard from a room of young Christians: like Jesus. They talk about living this out in a way that is life-giving, holding your conviction while loving the image bearer in front of you, and moving from an issue-focused approach to a kingdom approach.
At the center is the gospel. As Kurt puts it, the most profound pro-life initiative in the history of mankind is when the Father sent His Son to die on the cross for you and me. The treasure is the Lord Jesus Christ and a redeemed relationship with the Father for eternity.
reIMAGED is a podcast from LIFE International, bringing pro-life into gospel focus.
